Skilled Nursing/Long Term Care
A SNF often receives patients from a LTAC or Rehab facility and provides a higher level of care than a typical Long-Term Care facility. A significant portion of patients in a SNF are on Medicare. They also take patients from their Long-Term Care wing. Like LTAC’s, there is a rehab nature and patients progress through different levels of physical ability. In the Long-Term Care areas, residents condition day to day changes little, and maintaining their ability is the goal.
